Great plants for every garden – and how to use them

Des Doyle is a self-taught gardener who lives in Co. Kilkenny. Over the past twenty years he has made many gardens for clients and for himself. His first garden, developed over 12 years was the subject of his book ‘Growing Beauty’ where he explored the use of perennial plants combined to create interesting and beautiful combinations. In this talk he will explore his garden throughout the gardening year. Each season will be introduced by a selection of the most important and best performing plants combined in interesting ways. In his talk Des will explore sustainability, the use of long-lived perennials, the use of grasses and shrubs and how to combine these into long lived landscapes suitable for a range of gardens. A plant list will be provided on the day.
